Thursday’s warm-up combined with the evening and early morning chill-down created treacherous road conditions throughout Chautauqua County on Friday. This accident was reported near Porter Road on Route 60 in Pomfret involving a vehicle that hit a tree. Fredonia Fire Department and New York State Police responded to the call. Other accidents were reported during the day as well, including a car roll-over on Route 5 just outside of Silver Creek near the Route 20 intersection around 11:25 a.m. A flood watch and warning remained in effect until 7 p.m. Friday with cold temperatures continuing Saturday and another warming trend starting Sunday as temperatures could hit 50 on both Monday and Tuesday.
