Ramona Ann Petty Obituary – Daily Ardmoreite

Graveside funeral services for Ramona Ann (West) Petty will be held 2:00PM, Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, with Brother Frank Duncan officiating.

Ramona was born November 25, 1940, in Davis, to the late John Alva and Malissia Mae (Pitchford) West. She passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Davis, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 21 days.

Ramona grew up in Davis, prior to moving to California in her late teen years. She graduated from Antioch High School in Antioch, CA. After high school, Ramona married and began a family. In 1972, she and her family returned to Davis. Throughout her career, she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses including the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Billingsly Ford. During her final years of working, she kept books for her family-owned business, Petty and Sons Appliances of Davis, retiring after the death of her husband in 2010.

Ramona was a very active lady. She was an exceptional seamstress, sewing for the public, as well as privately for her family. She also spent many years doing upholstery work and crocheting. She enjoyed playing Canasta with her much loved ladies’ group. Ramona was a very devoted member of the First Christian Church of Davis, where she enjoyed leading the church choir, as well as being active in all other church functions and operations. During her retirement years, she worked for the Murray County Election board monitoring and assisting voters at area polling places.

Survivors include her two sons, Kel Owens & wife Kelly of Davis and Matt Stewart & wife Misty of Prosper, TX; seven grandchildren, Dustin Smithers, Kari Knight, Trey Owens & wife Lori, Olivia Sager & husband Jarrod, Jett Stewart, Nathan Collins, and Jenna Stewart; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Don Petty in 2010; daughter, Janet Raye Ellett in 1997; one sister, Loretta Waters; and one brother, Alva Lou West.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kel Owens, Matt Stewart, Trey Owens, Olivia Sager, Jarrod Sager, Jett Stewart, and Nathan Collins.

Services are entrusted to HALE’S FUNERAL HOME, DAVIS.
