EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool is considering going out on its own without an athletic league.
East Liverpool school board president Matt Handley said during Thursday’s board meeting school officials are considering leaving the Buckeye 8 and going independent in the future. The Potters would remain a member of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
School officials are also considering joining the Stark County-based Eastern Buckeye Conference, but must let the EBC know by Feb. 1.
Handley said there is no recommendation from the athletic committee at this time regarding a move to the EBC.
The district also is currently interviewing for a head football coach.
