The food truck business in Starkville continues its craze.

A business trio is preparing to open Easy Street Brunch Co. to serve the Starkville and surrounding area.

Doug Marcinkowska, Corey Patton and Madalyn Patton will open the food truck and catering shop by the end of February.

Madalyn said Easy Street plans to serve breakfast and brunch dishes including brunch burritos, Eggs Benedict sandwiches, pancakes and more. Once open, you can stop by for breakfast Tuesday through Friday 7:30-9:30 a.m. and brunch 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can get brunch 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

“For us, choosing Starkville was easy,” Madalyn said. “The community is constantly growing and we want to be a part of that growth. We believe starting a brunch food truck will add some diversity to the food scene here in Starkville.

“You can drop by for mimosas with friends or grab a bite on your way to work,” she continued.

The trio wants to open the food truck by the end of February. For location updates and an actual launch date, keep up with Easy Street on social media.

Also in Starkville, Spring Street Cigars, 101 Dr. Douglas L. Conner Drive, will host its grand opening this Saturday.

Head downtown on Saturday for the cigar shop’s event specials, raffles, food and beverages 2-9 p.m. Check out how Spring Street has transformed the former Mugshots location downtown.

Also, there’s a new bank near The Mill.

Guaranty Bank & Trust Company held its grand opening for its Starkville location on Wednesday. The bank, located at 100 Mill St., replaced the former Italian restaurant Gondolier. The bank was founded in Mississippi in 1943 and has since expanded into more than 20 branches throughout the state.

The branch’s lobby will be open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Starkville location also features an interactive Teller Machine (ITM).

Similar to an ATM; however, Guaranty’s ITM features a video with a live bank teller to help you with your banking needs.

The business news keeps on coming.

For those interested in manufacturing, International Paper and East Mississippi Community College will be hosting a Process Manufacturing Boot Camp at the Communiversity.

The program is $95 for a two week course Jan. 31-Feb. 10 6-9 p.m. Check out EMCC’s website for registration and more information before it’s too late at https://bit.ly/3r2QJuL.

Moving to Columbus, there are two new shops open on Highway 45.

Discount Tobacco and Beer, 1928 Suite 1 Hwy. 45, officially opened last week. The tobacco and beer shop features a drive thru window and is open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Right next to the beer and tobacco store, Liquor World is also open. The liquor shop is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Owner, Vikaskumar Patel said he offers one of the largest selections of wine and liquor. He also added, for customers who bring in a copy of this column, they will receive 10 percent off one item from the liquor store.

Cheers!
