Mary Louise Nowatzke, 96, of Michigan City, IN passed away in Clarksville, Tennessee on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
She was born to Frank and Josephine Wozniak. She graduated from Michigan City Elston High School. She married Phillip Andrew Nowatzke in 1945. She was employed at many jobs including working the Scholl’s Dairy soda fountain, Indiana Bell Telephone Company, as well as bookkeeping for Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penney. She is a parishioner of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church and belonged to the Rosary Sodality. She was an adult 4-H Leader in Coolspring Twp. She also volunteered at the Michigan City Public Library tutoring school children after school.
She is survived by her children: Janice (William) Young, Lafayette, IN; Juliana (Michael) Horvath, Tucson, AZ; Daniel (Carol) Nowatzke, Hamlet, IN; June (Leon Hartness) Nowatzke, Sheridan, CO; Faith Nowatzke, Clarksville, TN; Frank (Olga) Nowatzke, Willis, TX; Sally Nowatzke, Michigan City, IN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Phillip A. Nowatzke; her brother, William A. Wozniak; her sisters, Clara Bolka and Josephine Wozniak, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Announced. Private burial will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
