Bee Kind Kids Planting Day: 3-6 p.m. at the Alexandria Farmers Market, 2727 Jackson St. Children will plant a pollinator garden and learn about the role pollinators in the food chain. Seeds and activities are sponsored by the Farm Bureau of Louisiana.
The Hixson Ford ProAM / Coca-Cola Dr. Pepper APT Pro Golf Tournament: March 8-13 at Oakwing Golf Club, 2345 Vandenburg Dr.
The event is Manna House’s signature event that raises funds to provide those in need with free nutritional meals. All proceeds go to the Manna House. Over 250 professional golfers and their family members and friends will come to town for the tournament.

Annual LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Fair: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Main Street Truck ParK, 930 Main St, Pineville. Second and annual Healthy Living Resource Fair. The goal of this event is to create a safe, inclusive, family/friendly event that showcases organizations or business in hopes to educate the community about LGBTQ+ resources available for self-care, spiritual, mental and physical health.
Youth Art Month Opening Reception & Awards: 11 a.m. at the Alexandria Museum of Art, 933 2nd Street. About 40-50 art pieces created by Rapides Parish students from Kindergarten to 12th grade were selected for competition and to be on exhibit at AMoA.
First, second and third place will be awarded for each grade level. Viewer’s Choice Award will be voted on at the Member Preview Reception and on YAMDay activities.
Art shows, special exhibits, fundraisers, and school and community activities take place annually, traditionally during March, to celebrate visual art education for grades K – 12.
Family Expo: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Alexandria Mall, 3437 Masonic Drive. Non-profit organizations will provide information and have activities such as crafts and music for families.
St Patrick’s Day Cruiser Ride: 1 p.m. at Red River Cyclery, 4023 Parliament Dr. Annual cruiser ride that starts at the shop. Those wearing green will be entered to win a pair of Tifosi glasses.

Smith & Wisznia Collection features 69 works from artists who lived, worked or exhibited in the post-Katrina era.
The collection was acquired by AMoA and donated by architect and developer Marcel Wisznia and curated by artist and publisher Terrance Sanders-Smith.
