Staff report
The All American Conference has released its all-conference selections for 2021-2022 winter sports.
In boys basketball, Boardman senior Trey DePietro was named Player of the Year, while Howland senior Alyssa Pompelia earned Player of the Year honors for girls basketball.
In addition to DePietro, the first team selections were: Canfield senior Jake Grdic, Warren G. Harding senior Tyirq Ivory, Howland senior Anthony Massucci, Harding senior Duncan Moy, Boardman senior Luke Ryan, Austintown Fitch senior Allen Underwood and Fitch sophomore DeShawn Vaughn.
The second team consisted of: Howland senior Gabe Badea, Boardman senior Seth Cervello, Howland sophomore Alex Henry, Boardman senior Anthony Hightower, Harding junior Jacob Lawrence, Canfield senior Zane Muckleroy and Fitch senior Devin Sherwood.
For the girls, along with Pompelia, Canfield senior Alyssa Dill, Howland sophomore Alyssa Massucci, Howland senior Jamie DeSalvo, Harding senior Makaila Powell, Boardman sophomore Mackenzie Riccitelli, Canfield senior Summer Sammarone and Fitch junior Zayda Creque all earned first-team honors.
The girls second team consisted of: Canfield junior Abby Muckleroy, Canfield senior Amelia Francisco, Fitch sophomore Ayla Ray, Boardman senior Emma Mills, Canfield senior Gianna DeLucia, Howland senior Kylie McClain and Howland senior Taylor Lawrence.
Bowling
In bowling, Howland senior Chris Guesman was named conference Bowler of the Year for the boys, while Boardman senior Alayna Turillo earned Bowler of the Year honors for the girls.
Boys all-conference selections were: Harding junior Braylen Schuller, Boardman junior Daniel Enright, Howland junior Jared Vrabel, Canfield freshman Matt Logan, Boardman senior Reese Beckman and Fitch senior Vincent DeSiato.
Girls all-conference selections included: Fitch senior Emily Wagner, Howland senior Gillian McMurray, Boardman senior Grace Oklota, Boardman freshman Kaitlyn Greenaway, Boardman freshman Marissa Funk and Boardman senior Sam Hoffman.
Swimming
Boardman largely dominated the swimming selections.
Boardman junior Caleb Satterfield earned Swimmer of the Year honors for the boys, while Boardman junior Madison Murphy was selected as girls conference Swimmer of the Year.
Boys all-conference selections included: Boardman freshman RJ Keating (1 M Diving), Boardman senior Justin Yocum (200 Medley/400 Free Relay), Satterfield (200 Medley/200 IM/100 Butterfly/400 Free Relay), Boardman sophomore Ethan DunLany (200 Medley/200 Freestyle/500 Freestyle/400 Free Relay), Canfield senior Luke Dietz (50 Freestyle/200 Free Relay), Howland sophomore Luke Delida (100 Freestyle), Canfield freshman Hayden Price (200 Free Relay/100 Backstroke), Canfield junior Cameron Burnett (200 Free Relay), Canfield senior Santiago Hernandez (200 Free Relay), Fitch senior William Ferrante (100 Breaststroke) and Boardman senior Carter Cailor (400 Free Relay).
